Using compatible chips – Chip slippage

Compatible chips are often stuck in position using double sided tape which has a tendency to slip over time. This allows the chip to move out of position where the chip contacts in the printer cannot connect properly to the chip.

Removal of the cartridge and repositioning of the chip usually resolves this.
