FIX: Epson P50 Error lights – CD Tray sensor switch jam

This video guide has been put together to show you how to diagnose and deal with a CD tray sensor jam that stops your P50* from printing.

The error lights show in sequence of ink and paper lights flashing together twice and then flashing alternately five times.

The fix is simple and demonstrated in this video:

Additional Notes:

If you follow the process described and the printer continues to show the lights when you release the little microswitch, it’s likely that your printer is waiting for you to insert the CD-Tray with a printable CD/DVD in it. Clearing the printer queue on your computer and cancelling all pending print jobs should stop this and eventually the printer will return to its normal standby state.
