The techniques covered are the:
(Canon) Top-Fill/Traditional technique
Where ink is injected into the original feed hole in the cartridge.
This technique is recommended for those with newer Canon printers with opaque cartridges.
An OctoInkjet customer has also produced another guide that covers some other aspects of refilling Top-Fill style complete with pictures here
(Canon) German/Durchstich method
A considerably simpler method of refilling that requires some initial patience but pays dividends once mastered. Better for older printers with the CLI-8 cartridges
