OctoInkjet & the Environment

There are a number of benefits to using our systems beyond the financial savings.

By removing the need to buy ink in small capacity plastic cartridges and replacing it with a Continuous Ink Supply system you help to reduce waste normally incurred in cartridges:

  • Reduced Packing materials
    (Plastic and cardboard packaging used to protect and market each cartridge)
  • Reduced Delivery
    (Fuel & bulk packaging materials)
  • Reduced Un-used ink wastage
    (each cartridge retains at least 3ml ink when "empty")

 

By replacing cartridges you reduce the environmental cost.



Standard Bottle Kit vs' Cartridges

HP High Capacity (XL) Cartridges:

  • 4 high capacity black (XL) HP cartridges (equivalent: 250ml black ink)
  • 15 high capacity (XL) colour cartridges per other colour (equivalent: 250ml ink)
  • 3 colours (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow)
  • Net total: 49 cartridges
  • 49 sets of cardboard packaging
  • 49 sets of plastic packaging and holders

Total weight: 4.2kg

The OctoInkjet kit comprises:

  • 4x cartridges
  • 4x 250ml bottles
  • 1x plastic container
  • various small plastic fittings
  • 1x set of packaging material
Total weight: 1.8kg

 

Recycling

We recognise that even our reduced environmental impact could still be improved so we try to reduce this further...

Bottle Deposit/Credit

Ink Refills are provided with a "bottle deposit" value for the bottles when they are returned empty. This value is credited to customers account and encourages customers to return the bottles for cleaning and re-use, reducing the number of bottles required and reducing pollution.

Recycled HP Cartridges

Our kits utilise the original HP cartridges so we welcome any empty HP10, 11 and 88 cartridges you may have already and will credit customer accounts accordingly.

 

EcoSchools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life. Schools are being encouraged to improve their self-sustainability by 2020.
