Anyone watching progress on the QuickFind tool development will know this has taken a bit longer than intended but some major improvements have now been implimented.
Stage 2a (completed)
- Single use links now work automatically for any OctoInkjet Customers who were registered before or while placing their order.
- Information for eBay customers and visitors is now provided directly within the QuickFind tool
- Links to articles still work if Javascript is disabled
- Icons indicate which inks are actually sold on OctoInkjet
- Existing printer images no longer encroach on other areas the QF display.
- BUGFIX: Quickfind "protected" utilities are now accessible for customers
- Quickfind select box replaced with an AutoComplete field to make it easier to select your printer instead of trawling through a long list.
Stage 2b (remaining plans)
- Add Tooltip function/info for icons to make it easier to understand what each icon stands for.
- Addition of a "Remote Reset Service" icon as a 3rd party "cost" option**
- Add all the missing printer images
** This new "remote reset service" is still in its infancy but given the limitations and recent changes that Epson have incorporated into their newest printer utilities it's becoming obvious that this sort of service is going to become more common.
For anyone who doesn't want to trawl through but may just be interested here's what was accomplished before now:
Stage 1 (completed)
- Additional KB/FAQ articles are now linked to different icons, so clicking them provides an explanation for specific icons/actions
- New icons created for specific situations (eg: kit purchase required for reset access, etc...)
- Results pages are now templated which will make it much easier to cope with future changes
- Reduced information overload and simplified the options available to visitors (eg: 3rd party utility links not shown if a free reset is available and accessible)
- Customers are now identified properly
- Single use links are now working manually (automated delivery for customers is priority #1 in Stage 2)
