A quick overview of changes being made to our services.
We have completed the switch to UKMail Next Day for England, Wales and parts of Scotland as the primary shipping option. Low value orders will still be able to use our economy service but UKMail has become our preferred provider.
This means we now have a much cheaper and more reliable flat fee, next day* delivery service for mainland Britain. Unfortunately it won't benefit Northern Ireland, Scotish Highlands or any islands, so Royal Mail will continue to be available for those areas. We are looking at ways to improve the service options for more remote locations though.
Fulfillment through a US based distribution point has been temporarily halted and reverted to either Royal Mail Tracked & Signed or a tracked alternative. It is currently looking unlikely we will resume localised operations in the USA but we are considering alternatives.
We've recently started using a new service which covers a number of International destinations but is unable to accept liquids (ie: inks, cleaning solutions, etc...). At present we are trialling the delivery speeds for the services available but it does mean that all tracking information is only available internally until the package reaches it's "final mile" and has been handed off to the local delivery service in country.
We've been using TNT for a while now and as they integrate with Fedex we hope to be providing these services as a directly selectable shipping service shortly... This will substantially benefit European customers who are purchasing inks and refill kits where the order weight is over 2Kg.
Because so many changes have been made to the services we use we're currently catching up on how each of the different services can be tracked by customers. To this end some services are not currently directly trackable but we can look up information here. We do intend to resolve this in the next few weeks but it depends largely on the technical hurdles and IT support departments of each service provider. More to follow in the KB/FAQ section as we get things updated.
