Bottle Volumes/Sizes for Our Inks

We currently stock inks in a number of sizes depending on the ink type, demand and characteristics of the ink itself.

The volumes available are:

  • 50ml
  • 125ml
  • 250ml (single bottle) for some inks
  • 250ml (2x 125ml bottles)

Constraints

  1. The SquEasyFill system uses a single size of cap which fits the 20-410 (20mm) neck size. This limits the potential bottles and/or sizes we can purchase.
  2. It is more cost effective to purchase some bottles in bulk, keeping costs low, instead of buying in bottles of varying sizes.

Appearance/Confusion

There has been some feedback that the ink levels in some bottles are sometimes confusing, particularly with the 50ml volumes in 60ml bottles. Usually the impression received is that only part of the order has been received. Whilst it’s easy to understand where the confusion might arise we are providing correct volumes, often with some excess allowed so customers shouldn’t be receiving less ink volume than they ordered.

Distorted Bottles

In some instances bottles can become distorted and take on something of an “imploded” look. This problem is caused by a combination of the bottle materials flexibility (which is essential for the SquEasyFill approach) and environmental conditions at time of being bottled. It’s perfectly normal and while the bottle may not return to its original shape the ink volume is correct (or over).

250ml Bottles

Most of our 250ml volumes offered are now 125ml bottles in sets of two. We do provide some inks in 250ml single bottles but only where we know that the stock will be sold on within 3-6 months.

Larger Volumes

OctoInkjet is primarily aimed at end-users with small to moderate printing needs and as such all of our products and stock levels are aimed at that market. While we can sometimes accomodate larger orders (500ml, 1 litres, etc..) it is not always possible, regardless of whether stock levels would support such an order. This is due to the careful balance between maintaining ink set availability, supplier ordering cycles and lead time on resupply.

Without going into long boring details we are not always able to supply larger orders although we can certainly consider purchasing in stock as part of our cycle provided there is considerable advance notice to facilitate such a request.
